I want to book you for my hair and makeup. What do I do next?First of all – yay! I’m so excited you’re interested in booking with me. You can either head to my Book Online page to submit your booking request, or Contact Me directly via email. Once I receive your enquiry, I’ll be in touch to confirm availability and lock in your booking. If you’re unsure which service to choose or have any special requests, just reach out – I’m always happy to help.
-
Do I need to pay a deposit to secure my booking?Yes – to secure your booking, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Your date is not confirmed until this has been received. The remaining balance is due at least 4 weeks before your booking date. If a cancellation is made within 4 weeks of your appointment, the full payment is still required. Once your final payment has been made, it’s also non-refundable, as we’ve reserved that time just for you and turned away other work to ensure we’re available for your booking. We understand that things can change unexpectedly, and we’ll always do our best to support you – but these policies help us keep things fair for both our clients and our team.
-
When should I wash my hair before the appointment? Please wash your hair the night before your appointment (or the morning of if it gets oily quickly). Make sure it’s completely dry before we begin styling. Avoid using heavy conditioners, oils, or leave-in products, - clean, dry hair holds shape much better. Feel free to dry your hair with a hair dryer but do not use any hot tools on your hair the day of your appointment.
-
Should I exfoliate before the appointment? If exfoliating is something you regularly do, feel free to do it the night before to help smooth the skin. But don’t try anything new - we don’t want any surprise reactions!
-
Should I do anything special to my skin before my makeup session?Stick to your usual skincare routine on the day of your appointment - simply cleanse and moisturise as you normally would in the morning. Please avoid applying SPF, facial oils, or rich creams right before your appointment, as these can interfere with how the makeup adheres to the skin and how long it lasts. In the weeks and months leading up to your event, it’s best not to introduce any new skincare products or treatments, especially if your skin isn’t used to them. This helps avoid unexpected reactions or breakouts and ensures your skin is in its best, most stable condition for the big day.
-
How long will a hair and makeup trial session take?I like to allow around 3 hours for hair and makeup trials. This gives us time to try different styles and really refine the look until it feels just right.
-
Can I bring someone to the trial with me?Absolutely! You’re more than welcome to bring a friend or two along if you’d like a second opinion or just some company. There’s absolutely no pressure - this time is all about you and making sure you feel your best. If you could kindly let me know in advance, I’ll make sure there’s enough space to accommodate everyone comfortably.
-
Do you charge a travel fee?Yes, travel fees apply for all bookings outside my studio in Glenhaven and are based on distance (return travel). Rates reflect the time it takes to prep, travel, unload, and set up our full professional kits. Travel usually requires two artists, especially for larger bookings. I’m happy to provide an exact quote once you share your prep location.
-
When should I book in for my hair and makeup trial?Totally up to you, there’s no one-size-fits-all here! Some people feel more comfortable locking in their look months in advance, which gives you peace of mind and helps everything feel organised early. Others prefer to book their trial a little closer to the wedding (around 4–8 weeks out), so the style is fresh and reflective of your current taste. Whatever suits your vibe best, I’m here to guide you and make it fun. Trials are held Monday to Thursday, so we can take our time without any weekend rush.
-
What happens if you’re not available on the day?In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend your booking, please rest assured. I’ll organise for an equally experienced artist from my trusted team to take care of you. You’ll still receive the same level of care, quality, and professionalism we’re known for. A full continuity breakdown of your look will be created and passed on to the artist, so every detail is consistent and true to what we’ve planned together. All the artists I work with have experience in professional industry settings like film, TV, and theatre, so you can feel confident knowing they’ll be able to recreate your look to the highest standard.
-
Do you cater for group bookings or special events, not just weddings?Yes, absolutely! I offer professional hair and makeup services for groups of all sizes, whether it’s for formals, photo shoots, expos, special events, or even a fun night out. I also run group makeup lessons (perfect for parties or a girls' night in) and offer pro artist education for those wanting to level up their skills. Whether it’s for fun, learning, or a full glam moment, I’ve got you covered.
-
Where is your studio located? My home studio is in Glenhaven, NSW. You'll receive the exact address and parking instructions once your appointment is confirmed. It’s a peaceful, private space designed to make you feel comfortable and pampered.
-
When should I get a spray tan before my event?I recommend getting your spray tan two full days before your event. This allows time for the colour to fully develop and settle, and for you to have two good showers before the day. This helps prevent any unwanted transfer onto clothing (especially wedding dresses!) and ensures a more natural, even finish. If it’s your first spray tan, I highly suggest doing a trial run a few weeks earlier. This gives you a chance to see how it wears on your skin and how deep you like the colour. Just be sure your trial tan has completely faded before getting another tan for your event – we usually recommend 2–3 weeks between tans to avoid any patchiness or uneven results.
-
When should I get my brows or facial waxing done before an event?I recommend having any brow shaping or facial waxing done at least 7 days before your event. Waxing removes the top layer of skin, so your skin needs time to fully heal. If it’s done too close to the event, makeup may not adhere properly, and the area can appear patchy or uneven. If you're trying a new shape or treatment for the first time, it’s a good idea to do a trial run weeks or even better months ahead to make sure you're happy with the results and your skin reacts well.
-
I’ve never had my hair and makeup done professionally before – what if I don’t like it?That’s completely okay - and very common! Many of my clients feel a little nervous, especially if it’s their first time or they’ve had a bad experience in the past. My approach is all about comfort, collaboration, and trust. We work together every step of the way.
-
Will I get to see what’s happening as we go?Yes! I’ll give you a mirror for the session. That way, you can see each step as we go and feel totally in control of the process. Nothing is ever a surprise - we talk everything through and check in often.
-
What if I want to change something? That’s completely fine - it’s your look, and I want you to absolutely love it. Whether it’s a tiny tweak or a full rethink, we’ll adjust until you’re happy. I always take the time to trial different ideas so you feel confident and beautiful.
-
I’m worried I’ll feel overdone or not like myself.I completely understand. My goal is to enhance your features in a way that still feels like you. Whether you want something soft and natural or more glam, we’ll find the perfect balance together. You’ll never feel pushed outside your comfort zone.
-
Will you listen to what I like or want?Absolutely. This is your face, your hair, and your day - your opinion matters most. We chat before and during your appointment to make sure we’re on the same page. I’ll ask about your preferences, what you usually wear, and how you want to feel.
-
I’m just really nervous – is that normal? So normal! So many people tell me this - and by the end, they usually say it was nothing like they feared. My goal is to create a calm, safe space where you feel looked after and heard. There’s no pressure, just support.
